THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL (EOC)
The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) at Bapatla College of Pharmacy takes care of grievances and complaints under the concept of Education For All. As per the University Grants Commission (Promotion of Equity in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2012, the Equal Opportunity Cell aims to ensure equal educational opportunities for all students irrespective of gender, caste, tribe, religion, or social status. The responsibility of EOC is to adhere to and follow the guidelines as directed by UGC. The Equal Opportunity Cell is also responsible for publicizing, circulating, facilitating, and monitoring the policies of equality in higher education. Bapatla College of Pharmacy has constituted the committee under the name of Equal Opportunity Cell for taking care of grievances and complaints of the Minority, SC, ST, OBC, Women, and Differently Abled Persons.

Objectives

  • To prevent discrimination and harassment based on caste, gender, religion, disability, or social background.
  • To ensure effective implementation of UGC guidelines.
  • To create awareness about rights and responsibilities among students and staff.
  • To provide a platform for redressal of grievances related to discrimination.
Responsibilities of the Equal Opportunity Cell
  • To conduct awareness programs and workshops for Education For All.
  • To maintain discipline in regard to Equal Opportunity Cell activities.
  • To implement preventive measures and laws against discrimination and safeguard students and staff belonging to SC/ST, OBC, Women, minorities, and differently abled categories.
  • To hear and resolve complaints related to discrimination or harassment based on gender, religion, caste, or social status.
  • To organize seminars and workshops for under-represented groups addressing social biases.
  • The EOC has the authority to investigate complaints of discrimination or harassment based on gender, religion, caste, or social status.
