Dr. Govindaraj Saravanan (Head of the Department, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bapatla College of Pharmacy, Bapatla) started his career as a Lecturer in KNIMT – Faculty of Pharmacy, Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh in April 2007 and joined as Lecturer in Bapatla College of Pharmacy, Bapatla in December 2007 and has held various positions before taking charge as Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. He possesses over 8 years of teaching experience in teaching the various chemistry and analysis subject to the UG & PG pharmacy students. He received his Ph.D. from JNTUH, Hyderabad in the year 2014. He studied M.Pharm., (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) from C.L.Baid Metha College of Pharmacy, Chennai (The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai) during 2005-2007 and B.Pharm., from JKKMMRF College of Pharmacy, B.Komarapalayam (The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai) during 1998-2002. He is a college topper in UG and got distinction in PG.
He has been performing research works in synthetic medicinal chemistry on novel heterocyclic bio-active compounds nearly ten years. He published his research works in well reputed international and national journal. His research publications in journals and presentations in conferences, put together exceed hundred. The total impact factor of his publication is around fifteen. He attended more than 20 national/international conferences/symposium/workshops organised by various institution. He is a recognised reviewer for many national and international journals. He is a life member of APTI (UP/LM-155) and IPGA (LM-3196). He is a registered pharmacist of Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council, Chennai (7783A1). He received best paper award twice (One in National symposium on phyto pharmaceuticals – In the Indian scenario during 5th & 6th January, 2007 & another in National level pharma symposium “PHARMAGEN 2K11” – Emerging new ventures in pharma generation, December 26th & 27th, 2011). Till date he successfully guided 14 PG and 4 UG dissertation work. At present he is guiding 6 PG and 2 UG projects.
